San Roque y Sotogrande vuelven a lucir cuatro banderas azules en 2023
Las playas de Torreguadiaro, Alcaidesa y Cala Sardina, y el Puerto de Sotogrande, reciben de nuevo este distintivo de calidad turística y ambiental
El municipio de San Roque ha vuelto a ser protagonista en las banderas azules con las que la Asociación de Educación Ambiental y del Consumidor (ADEAC) destaca la calidad ambiental así como la buena gestión y servicios de playas y enclaves costeros.
Para este 2023, las playas sanroqueñas de Torreguadiaro, Alcaidesa-Faro (Torrecarbonera) y Cala Sardina, y el puerto deportivo de Sotogrande volverán a lucir sus respectivas banderas azules otorgadas por ADEAC.
En referencia a las playas, estas banderas azules se conceden por diferentes requisitos que se valoran en cada caso, como la calidad de las aguas, la limpieza de la arena y también por los servicios públicos que el usuario puede encontrar en ellas, como socorrismo y salvamento, atención sanitaria, módulos de aseos y baños, y mobiliario público como duchas, papeleras y pasarelas.
En este año, la gran novedad ha sido la recuperación de la Bandera Azul para la playa de Torreguadiaro, que la había perdido en 2021 por un problema de saneamiento derivado de una instalación ajena al Ayuntamiento. Una situación que, afortunadamente, ha podido resolverse para este 2023.
En cuanto al puerto deportivo, su distintivo azul deriva de la gran calidad de sus instalaciones y los servicios que ofrece, así como de la destacada gestión que realiza Puerto Sotogrande en materia medioambiental, lo que le ha servido para renovar un año más este importante galardón. Por otro lado, también se ha otorgado la distinción como Centro Azul para el Aula de la Naturaleza del Pinar del Rey.
Desde el Ayuntamiento de San Roque han felicitado públicamente a Puerto Sotogrande por su constante trabajo para mantener la excelencia de sus instalaciones y han valorado muy positivamente que estas tres playas del litoral de Levante vuelvan a contar con la Bandera Azul. En este sentido, han destacado que estas banderas suponen un reclamo para los turistas y también un reconocimiento al esfuerzo municipal en materia de playas, así como el trabajo de cuidado y educación ambiental que se realiza en el Pinar del Rey.
De esta forma, San Roque vuelve a ser en 2023 el municipio del Campo de Gibraltar con más banderas azules en su litoral, ya que ADEAC sólo ha destacado en toda la comarca a otra playa y a un puerto deportivo con este mismo emblema.

San Roque and Sotogrande to fly four blue flags once again this 2023
The beaches of Torreguadiaro, Alcaidesa and Cala Sardina, and the Port of Sotogrande, once again receive this distinction of touristic and environmental quality.
The municipality of San Roque has been once again awarded the blue flags with which the Association for Environmental and Consumer Education (ADEAC) highlights the environmental quality as well as the quality of management and services of beaches and coastal sites.
For this 2023, the San Roque beaches of Torreguadiaro, Alcaidesa-Faro (Torrecarbonera) and Cala Sardina, as well as the marina of Sotogrande shall once again display their respective blue flags bestowed upon them by ADEAC.
In reference to the beaches, these blue flags are awarded for different requirements that are assessed individually, such as the quality of the water, the cleanliness of the sand and for the public services that the user can find along the beaches, such as lifeguards and rescue, health care, toilets and bathrooms, and public facilities such as showers, litter bins and walkways.
The major new development this year has been the recovery of the Blue Flag for Torreguadiaro beach, which it had lost in 2021 due to a sanitation issue caused by an installation outside the Town Hall. A situation which, fortunately, has been resolved for 2023.
As for the marina, its blue badge derives from the high quality of its facilities and the services it offers, as well as the outstanding environmental management carried out by Puerto Sotogrande, which has served to renew this important award one more year. On the other hand, it also has been awarded the Blue Centre distinction for the Aula de la Naturaleza del Pinar del Rey (Pinar del Rey Nature Classroom).
The San Roque Town Council has publicly congratulated Puerto Sotogrande for its constant efforts to maintain the excellence of its facilities and have assessed very positively to these three beaches off the coast of Levante to count again with the Blue Flag. Along these lines, they have highlighted that these flags are both a tourist attraction and also a recognition of the municipal efforts on the beaches, as well as the conservation and environmental education work being carried out in Pinar del Rey.
Thus, San Roque becomes the municipality of Campo de Gibraltar with more blue flags along its coastline in 2023, since ADEAC has only distinguished one other beach and a marina with this same emblem in the whole region.
