El 2023 se ha convertido en un año histórico para el golf en Sotogrande, con destacadas novedades en una de las actividades más representativas de la zona

A principios del año, un nuevo circuito internacional, LIV Golf, confirmaba su apuesta por contar con Sotogrande entre sus diferentes citas por todo el mundo, desembarcando en Valderrama al inicio del verano. Sin embargo, esto ponía en duda la permanencia ya tradicional del DP World Tour y su Andalucía Masters en la zona.
Afortunadamente, esa incertidumbre se resolvió de la mejor forma posible. El propio circuito europeo, en su deseo de no abandonar uno de los enclaves golfísticos más importantes del continente, le propuso a un histórico campo como el Real Club de Golf Sotogrande convertirse en su nueva sede.
El acuerdo entre el DP World Tour y el RCG Sotogrande, con el amparo de la Junta de Andalucía, beneficia a todas las partes y en especial a nuestra zona, que demuestra una vez más ser un atractivo destino no sólo para el turismo del golf, sino para cualquier competición del máximo nivel.
Esto supone una prueba más de la enorme relevancia de Sotogrande en el golf internacional y la extraordinaria calidad de sus diferentes campos, perfectamente capaces de acoger a figuras mundiales de este deporte para que ofrezcan un gran espectáculo a los aficionados.
De esta forma, Sotogrande se mantiene en la élite del golf y nuevamente en otoño se convierte en la capital internacional de este deporte con el Estrella Damm NA Andalucía Masters, evento que atraerá a miles de seguidores que lo disfrutarán a pie de campo o lo seguirán desde sus hogares desde diferentes rincones del mundo.

History in the making for golf in 2023
2023 has become a historic year for golf in Sotogrande, with outstanding developments in one of the most representative activities for the area.
At the beginning of the year, a new international circuit, LIV Golf, confirmed its commitment to include Sotogrande among its various appointments around the world, landing in Valderrama at the beginning of the summer. However, this called into question the traditional permanence of the DP World Tour and its Andalucía Masters within the area.
Fortunately, this uncertainty was resolved in the best possible way. The European Tour itself, in its desire not to abandon one of the most important golfing enclaves of the continent, proposed turning a historic course such as the Real Club de Golf Sotogrande into its new headquarters.
The partnership between the DP World Tour and RCG Sotogrande, with the support of the Andalusian Regional Government, benefits all parties involved and especially our area. It proves once again to be an attractive destination not only for golf tourism, but also for any top-level competition.
This is further testament to the enormous relevance that Sotogrande has in international golf and the extraordinary quality of its different courses, perfectly capable of hosting world stars of the sport and offering a great spectacle to the fans.
As a result, Sotogrande remains among golf’s elite and once again this autumn it becomes the international capital of the sport with the Estrella Damm NA Andalucía Masters, an event that will attract thousands of fans who will either be enjoying it on the course or following it from their homes in many different corners of the world.
