CASA ANGELES

Amelia, Farrah and Nadia are three MYP3 students from Sotogrande International School who decided to visit Global Gift Foundation’s ‘Casa Angeles’ in Marbella as part of their community project to assist children with special needs. We at SGplus wanted to collaborate with these three students in their objective of highlighting the NGO’s outstanding work by publishing their article.

Casa Angeles is a home in Marbella that helps children with special needs and provides free therapies and support for the children and their families. Our goal is to help Casa Angeles and provide support wherever they need it. We did a fundraiser for them and raised

€300 which we used to buy musical instruments for the children and the remaining money we have donated to them which they can use for anything they need. Throughout the project we have visited the centre to talk to the managers of Casa angeles and even the owner of Global Gift, Maria Bravo.

During our interview with Maria, she talked to us about how she made Global Gift what it is today, and who supported her throughout her journey. She told us all about her childhood and mentioned how supportive and incredible her mother was. Interviewing Maria was one of the most inspirational moments of all of our lives, and we all walked away from it speechless and in awe.

On the 30th of January we visited Casa Angeles and with us, we brought the instruments that we bought the children. Watching their faces light up with joy when we gave them to the kids, was so incredible, and will stay with us forever. We bought them mainly percussion instruments, and then we spent an hour or so with them, playing songs in Spanish, and dancing around playing the instruments.

The last few months with Casa Angeles have been so incredible, and it has been an unforgettable experience. Helping the children and supporting the home has been so much fun and we have all made lifelong memories at Casa Angeles. All of this has only been possible thanks to the incredible people at Casa Angeles who selflessly work for free to provide these children with a sanctuary that allows them to embrace the best version of themselves. Someone who has been so good to us at Casa Angeles was Carmen Olivia, who is the Manager of Casa Angeles.

Casa Angeles is so incredible, they are really changing these children’s lives forever, and they could always do with extra support. From donations, to volunteers anything and everything is appreciated at Casa Angeles.
