El pasado 31 de enero, el edificio Pósito de Los Barrios se convirtió en el epicentro de la celebración y el reconocimiento al talento y la dedicación en el Campo de Gibraltar.

El acto de los IX Premios del Campo de Gibraltar fue memorable, donde se destacó el compromiso, la excelencia y la contribución a diversos ámbitos de la sociedad. La presidenta de la Mancomunidad, Susana Pérez Custodio, destacó la importancia de estos premios y su valor como punto de encuentro entre todos los municipios que conforman el Campo de Gibraltar.

En el ámbito de la labor social y solidaria, la Fundación Ramón Díaz Bustamante recibió el reconocimiento, destacando su incansable labor en el cuidado de los más mayores en su residencia de ancianos.

Por otro lado, en el ámbito artístico, la bailaora Lucía Álvarez, «La Piñona», brilló al recibir el premio por su labor artística excepcional, que ha llevado el flamenco a escenarios nacionales e internacionales.

El deporte también fue protagonista de la noche, con la Unión Deportiva Tesorillo alzándose con el reconocimiento al mérito en la práctica deportiva. Destacando su compromiso con el fútbol desde 1974 y las 50 temporadas que llevan a sus espaldas.

En el ámbito empresarial, el innovador proyecto de casas flotantes, Boat Haus, fue reconocido por su excelencia empresarial, destacando su visión vanguardista y su contribución al desarrollo económico de la comarca.

La Almoraima recibió el premio al fomento y turismo, en reconocimiento a su papel en la promoción de los atractivos naturales y culturales de la región, atrayendo visitantes y fomentando el desarrollo sostenible.

La periodista, Gloria Sánchez Masallá, fue galardonada por su destacada labor en el campo de la comunicación, demostrando su habilidad para informar y entretener a través de la radio.

En el ámbito cultural, el escritor sanroqueño Antonio Pérez Girón fue homenajeado por su esmero en el mantenimiento y la conservación de las señas de identidad del Campo de Gibraltar.

Por último, María del Amor León Meléndez recibió el premio a la promoción de la igualdad, por su incansable lucha por la accesibilidad y la inclusión social, promoviendo un entorno donde las personas con movilidad reducida tengan las mismas oportunidades y derechos.

La Fundación Paco de Lucía recibió la Mención Especial, coincidiendo con el décimo aniversario de la muerte del maestro. Pérez Custodio quiso poner en valor la figura de Paco de Lucía como referente universal de nuestra tierra.

Handing out of the 9th Commonwealth of Campo de Gibraltar Awards, brimming with talent and dedication

On the 31st of January, the Pósito building in Los Barrios became the epicentre of celebration and recognition of talent and dedication in the Campo de Gibraltar.  The IX Campo de Gibraltar Awards ceremony was memorable, highlighting commitment, excellence and contribution to various areas of society.

The president of the Commonwealth, Susana Pérez Custodio, highlighted the importance of these awards and their value as a meeting point between all the municipalities that make up the Campo de Gibraltar.

The Ramón Díaz Bustamante Foundation received an award in the area of social and solidarity work, highlighting its tireless work in caring for the elderly in its old folks’ home.

On the other hand, in the artistic field, the flamenco dancer Lucía Álvarez, «La Piñona», shone when she received the award for her exceptional artistic work, which has taken flamenco to national and international stages.

Sports also took centre stage during the evening, with Unión Deportiva Tesorillo receiving the award for sporting merit. The award highlighted their commitment to football ever since 1974 and the 50 seasons they have been involved in the sport.

In the business field, the innovative houseboat project, Boat Haus, was recognised for its business excellence, highlighting its avant-garde vision and its contribution to the economic development of the region.

La Almoraima received the Tourism and Promotion Award, in recognition of its role in promoting the region’s natural and cultural attractions, drawing visitors and encouraging sustainable development.

In the cultural field, the San Roque writer Antonio Pérez Girón was honoured for his dedication to the maintenance and conservation of the Campo de Gibraltar signs of identity.

Finally, María del Amor León Meléndez received the award for promoting equality, in recognition of her tireless fight for accessibility and social inclusion. She works to promote an environment where people with reduced mobility have the same opportunities and rights.

The Paco de Lucía Foundation received the Special Commendation, coinciding with the tenth anniversary of the maestro’s death. Pérez Custodio aimed to highlight the figure of Paco de Lucía as a universal reference of our land.
