Entre las seis nominaciones destacan la de La Reserva Club como mejor campo de golf de Europa y España; Sotogrande como mejor enclave inmobiliario de golf del mundo y SO/ Sotogrande como mejor Hotel de Golf de Europa y España
Creados en 2014 como parte del grupo World Travel Awards, los World Golf Awards suponen un reconocimiento a la excelencia en campos y destinos de golf de todo el mundo. El objetivo de estos premios es el de mejorar los estándares dentro de la industria del turismo de golf, distinguiendo a a los clubes y organizaciones líderes en su sector.
Por ello, la junta de los World Golf Awards sólo nomina a los mejores campos de golf, hoteles de golf y empresas del mundo, en función de su búsqueda de excelencia, instalaciones premium y excelente servicio.
Para la próxima edición de estos premios, Sotogrande ha sido nominado en seis categorías diferentes. Entre ellas las de: Mejor lugar inmobiliario de golf del mundo para la propia Sotogrande; El Mejor campo de golf de Europa y España para La Reserva Club; y SO/ Sotogrande Spa & Golf Resort como candidato al Mejor Hotel de Golf de Europa y España.
La votación está abierta hasta el 6 de octubre, en la que pueden participar golfistas de todo el mundo a través del sitio web oficial de los World Golf Awards. La undécima ceremonia de la gala anual de estos distinguidos premios internacionales se llevará a cabo en el Savoy Palace de Madeira, Portugal, el 22 de noviembre, cuando se revelarán todos los ganadores.

Sotogrande es uno de los destinos deportivos y de ocio más fuertes de Europa, donde los huéspedes pueden practicar golf, tenis, polo, deportes acuáticos, pádel y mucho más. Sotogrande alberga cuatro campos de golf del máximo nivel: Real Club Valderrama (histórico anfitrión de la Ryder Cup), La Reserva Club (reciente sede de Aramco Team Series), Real Club Sotogrande (actual sede del DP World Tour) y Almenara Golf.
Ubicado en la cima del pico más alto de Sotogrande, La Reserva Club es el campo más nuevo de Sotogrande. Diseñado en 2003 por el arquitecto estadounidense Cabell B. Robinson, presenta calles amplias que conducen a greens grandes y ondulados, junto con numerosos obstáculos de agua desafiantes.
Almenara Golf, ubicado en el SO/ Sotogrande Spa and Golf Resort, con el primer tee a poca distancia de las habitaciones del hotel, ha sido recientemente objeto de una extensa remodelación realizada por el legendario golfista local Manuel Piñero.
Por otro lado, en los recientes World Luxury Hotel Awards, SO/ Sotogrande Spa and Golf Resort recibió dos premios, ganando el galardón al Mejor Resort de Estilo de Vida de Lujo en Europa y al Mejor Resort de Bienestar de Lujo en España.
En cuanto a la nominación a Mejor Espacio Inmobiliario de Golf del Mundo, es un reflejo de la calidad mantenida durante las últimas seis décadas en Sotogrande y su reconocimiento como uno de los destinos residenciales más exclusivos y privados de Europa, así como la inversión continua en innovación arquitectónica.
Además, esta distinción de los World Golf Awards llega en un momento en el que Sotogrande SA lanza una serie de nuevos proyectos inmobiliarios. Sotogrande nominated for multiple awards in World Golf Awards
Launched in 2014, the globally recognised World Golf Awards serve to acknowledge, celebrate, and reward excellence in golf courses and golf destinations around the world. The aim is to drive up standards within the golf tourism industry by rewarding clubs and organisations that are leaders in their field. The World Golf Awards are part of the World Travel Awards Group.
Only the world’s best golf courses, golf hotels, and businesses are nominated by the World Golf Awards board, based on their pursuit of excellence, premium facilities, and great service.
Sotogrande has been nominated for no fewer than six different categories, including:
- World’s Best Golf Real Estate Venue: Sotogrande, Andalucía
- Europe’s and Spain’s Best Golf Course: La Reserva Club
- Europe’s and Spain’s Best Golf Hotel: SO/ Sotogrande Spa & Golf Resort
Voting is open until October 6th, and golfers around the world are able to vote through the World Golf Awards official website. The 11th annual World Golf Awards Gala Ceremony will take place at the Savoy Palace in Madeira, Portugal, on November 22nd, when all winners will be revealed.

At the recent World Luxury Hotel Awards, SO/ Sotogrande Spa and Golf Resort was the recipient of two awards, winning the accolade for Best Luxury Lifestyle Resort in Europe, and Best Luxury Wellness Resort in Spain.
The nomination for World’s Best Golf Real Estate Venue comes at a time when Sotogrande launches a series of new Real Estate projects and the recognition as one of the most exclusive and private residential destinations in Europe, and the World Golf Awards, is a reflection of the quality maintained over the past 6 decades, as well as the continuous investment in architectural innovation.
