La institución reconoce la labor de entidades y personalidades destacadas de la comarca en la VI edición de sus premios comarcales, que este año se celebraron en Algeciras
El pasado 31 de enero, en la víspera de su 40º aniversario, la Mancomunidad de Municipios del Campo de Gibraltar celebró la VI edición de sus premios comarcales con una gala especial en el Parque María Cristina de Algeciras.
La ceremonia reunió a autoridades locales, galardonados y vecinos que no quisieron perderse la oportunidad de reconocer la trayectoria y aportación de diferentes entidades y personalidades destacadas de la comarca.
Una de las principales novedades en esta edición tan especial de estos premios, que coincidían con el 40º aniversario de la Mancomunidad, es que en este año se ha optado por que los ocho ayuntamientos de la comarca hayan designado directamente a un premiado de su municipio, en lugar de optar por la votación abierta al público para diferentes categorías, como en ediciones anteriores.
De esta forma, los premiados elegidos por cada ayuntamiento, fueron: por Tesorillo, la asociación local de Madres de Gimnasia Rítmica; por Jimena, Juan Gutiérrez, presidente de la Asociación de Corcheros y Arrieros de Andalucía; por Castellar, Francisco Mena, presidente de Alternativas y Márgenes y Vínculos; por Los Barrios, la empresa Guadacorte SA; por Tarifa la Academia Isamar; por La Línea la escuela de Magisterio Virgen de Europa por su 50 aniversario; por San Roque y a título póstumo, a Andrés Vázquez de Sola, y por Algeciras la Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería, que cumple 50 años en la ciudad.
Tras los reconocimientos a los elegidos por cada municipio, llegó uno de los momentos más emotivos de la noche con la Mención Especial de la Mancomunidad, concedida a los trabajadores de la propia institución, por lo que subió al escenario una representación de sus empleados más veteranos.
Para completar el homenaje a los 40 años de la institución comarcal, varios expresidentes comarcales como José Carracao, Juan Montedeoca, Miguel Manella, Diego González y Juan Lozano, se sumaron a la presidenta actual, Susana Pérez Custodio, para entregar el premio a los trabajadores de la entidad.
Tras este último galardón se dio paso al broche artístico del evento, con un desfile de moda a cargo del diseñador y empresario algecireño Juan Perea, seguido de la actuación musical de la familia Carmona.

The commonwealth of the Campo de Gibraltar marks its 40th anniversary
The institution recognises the work of outstanding entities and personalities of the region in its 6th regional awards ceremony, which this year took place in Algeciras.
Last January the 31st, on the eve of its 40th anniversary, the Commonwealth of Municipalities of Campo de Gibraltar celebrated the 6th edition of its regional awards with a special gala in the Maria Cristina Park in Algeciras.
The event brought together local authorities, award winners and neighbours who did not want to miss the opportunity to acknowledge the trajectory and contribution of different entities and outstanding personalities of the region.
One of the main novelties in this very special edition of these awards, which coincided with the 40th anniversary of the Commonwealth, is that this year the eight town councils of the region have chosen to directly nominate an award winner from their municipality, instead of voting openly to the public for different categories, as in previous editions.
Thus, the award winners chosen by each municipality were: for Tesorillo, the local association of Mothers in Rhythmic Gymnastics; for Jimena, Juan Gutiérrez, president of the Association of Cork and Muleteers of Andalusia; for Castellar, Francisco Mena, president of Alternativas and Márgenes y Vínculos; for Los Barrios, the company Guadacorte SA; for Tarifa, the Isamar Academy; for La Línea, the Virgen de Europa Teacher Training College in recognition of its 50th anniversary; for San Roque and posthumously, Andrés Vázquez de Sola, and for Algeciras, the Higher Technical School of Engineering, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary in the city.
After the recognition of those chosen by each municipality, came one of the most emotional moments of the night with the Commonwealth’s Special Mention, awarded to the workers of the institution itself, for which a representation of its most veteran employees took to the stage.
To round off the tribute to the 40 years of the regional institution, several former regional presidents such as José Carracao, Juan Montedeoca, Miguel Manella, Diego González and Juan Lozano, joined the current president, Susana Pérez Custodio, to present the award to the workers of the institution.
After this last award, the closing act of the event was carried out with a fashion show by the designer and businessman from Algeciras, Juan Perea, followed by the musical performance of the Carmona family.
