En esta sección, mes a mes hacemos un recorrido por la producción literaria relacionada con Sotogrande, y este es el resumen de un 2025 lleno de actividad
El «Rincón Literario» de SGplus ha seguido en 2025 mostrando la profunda conexión entre la literatura, el desarrollo personal y el inigualable paisaje del Campo de Gibraltar. Este año, la sección ha confirmado una tendencia clara: la historia e idiosincracia de la zona es capaz de inspirar a grandes nombres de la literatura nacional, recordando pasajes del espionaje histórico, o convirtiéndolo en escenario de intrigas y pasiones más actuales.
Fernando Botella presenta en Sotogrande su nuevo libro ‘Esencial’
Nuestro año literario se comenzó con la visita del conferenciante Fernando Botella. En la presentación de su libro ‘Esencial’, Botella ofreció una guía práctica para que el lector encuentre su camino hacia la felicidad y el equilibrio, invitando a la reflexión sobre lo que realmente importa en la vida y a eliminar lo superfluo.
María de la Luz del Prado presenta su novela ‘La Buena Sombra’ en Sotogrande
La novela debut de María de la Luz del Prado, ‘La Buena Sombra’ (Espasa), tuvo su presentación en Trocadero. La trama, una historia de pasiones y tradiciones en el mundo del flamenco, utiliza el Campo de Gibraltar (Tarifa, San Roque, Sotogrande) como un escenario esencial, destacando la inspiración que la autora encuentra en el sur de Andalucía.
‘Los crímenes del caviar’, un emocionante thriller en Sotogrande
El thriller de élite se hizo presente con el regreso de la jueza Lola MacHor, personaje de Reyes Calderón, en ‘Los crímenes del caviar’. La autora, «enamorada de Sotogrande», utilizó el enclave de lujo como telón de fondo para un crimen brutal, haciendo de la tranquilidad aparente del destino un «personaje más» en esta octava entrega de la saga.
Puerto Sotogrande celebra la edición 2025 de sus certámenes literarios
Puerto Sotogrande mantuvo su faceta de promoción cultural con la convocatoria del IV Certamen de Relatos y el VII Certamen de Poesía. Organizados con el Taller de Escritura Palabreando, ambos concursos tuvieron este año su edición de mayor participación, con más de 200 obras presentadas a concurso.
San Roque revive su historia local con paseos literarios sobre dos exitosas novelas
La historia local se revitalizó con los paseos literarios organizados por el Ayuntamiento de San Roque, basados en los bestsellers ‘El Italiano’ (Arturo Pérez-Reverte) y ‘El tiempo entre costuras’ (María Dueñas). Las rutas guiadas por Puente Mayorga y Guadarranque recorren los escenarios reales de las operaciones de espionaje y la vida de la espía Rosalinda Fox durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial.
Fresco Marina acoge una nueva edición de ‘Palabreando’
El Taller de Escritura ‘Palabreando’, dirigido por Nuria Ruiz, celebró un almuerzo literario centrado en el fomento de la creación y la cultura. El encuentro rindió homenaje a tres figuras femeninas imprescindibles de las letras españolas: Ana María Matute, Carmen Martín Gaite y Rosalía de Castro.
‘El sueño del cíclope’ de Jerónimo Andreu: Gibraltar como escenario de novela negra
El escritor gaditano Jerónimo Andreu confirmó el auge del thriller fronterizo con ‘El sueño del cíclope’, galardonada con el Premio Paco Camarasa. La novela trae de regreso al expolicía gibraltareño Joseph Sánchez en un relato sofisticado sobre el ciberespionaje y el blanqueo de criptomonedas a ambos lados del Peñón.
Alí Bey, el espía de Carlos IV de España en las tierras del Islam
El historiador Antonio Torremocha rescató la figura de Domingo Badía y Leblich en su obra ‘Alí Bey’. La novela narra la misión del ilustrado catalán que, a principios del siglo XIX, se disfrazó de príncipe musulmán para infiltrarse y obtener información estratégica para la Corona, destacando el rigor documental del autor.
“Monstruitos”: un diálogo íntimo con nuestras voces internas
La escritora y terapeuta Verónika Gau transformó su autoanálisis en la novela breve ‘Monstruitos’. La obra invita al lector a dialogar con sus demonios internos (miedos y heridas), funcionando como un espejo de autoconocimiento y esperanza al enseñar a «negociar» con estas voces protectoras que, a menudo, impiden la confianza plena.
“Debajo del Moral”, de Gabriela de la Torre: relatos que descubren la belleza en lo cotidiano
La autora Gabriela de la Torre presentó su colección de relatos cortos “Debajo del Moral”. El volumen, narrado con fina ironía y un estilo depurado, invita al lector a detenerse y contemplar la vida con humor y sensibilidad, destacando el amor de la autora por los pequeños detalles y la naturaleza.
Cristina Berazadi explora el poder de las palabras en “Diccionario de la Literalidad”
El ciclo comenzó con la original propuesta de Cristina Berazadi Estarta y su obra “Diccionario de Literalidad. Ecos de las Palabras”. La autora reflexiona sobre la naturaleza humana utilizando la técnica de la macronimia (convertir letras en siglas para formar acrónimos), dotando a más de quinientos términos de una connotación más profunda y personal.

This year, the section has confirmed a clear trend: the history and idiosyncrasy of the area are capable of inspiring major names in Spanish literature, recalling episodes of historic espionage or turning the region into the setting for more contemporary intrigues and passions.
Fernando Botella unveils his new book ‘Esencial’ in Sotogrande
Our literary year began with a visit from keynote speaker Fernando Botella. At the presentation of his book *Esencial*, Botella offered a practical guide to help readers find their path towards happiness and balance, inviting reflection on what truly matters in life and encouraging the elimination of the superfluous.
María de la Luz del Prado unveils her novel ‘La Buena Sombra’ in Sotogrande
The debut novel by María de la Luz del Prado, “La Buena Sombra” (Espasa), was presented at Trocadero. The author, “in love with Sotogrande”, uses the luxury enclave as the backdrop for a brutal crime, turning the destination’s apparent tranquillity into “another character” in this eighth instalment of the series.
Puerto Sotogrande announces the 2025 edition of its literary competitions
Puerto Sotogrande continued its commitment to promoting culture with the launch of the 4th Short Story Competition and the 7th Poetry Competition. Organised in collaboration with the Palabreando Creative Writing Workshop, both competitions reached their highest level of participation this year, with more than 200 entries submitted.
San Roque brings its local history to life with literary walks inspired by two successful novels

Cristina Berazadi explores the power of language in “Dictionary of Literalness”
The series began with the original proposal by Cristina Berazadi Estarta and her work “Diccionario de Literalidad. Ecos de las Palabras.” The author reflects on human nature using the technique of macronymy (turning letters into acronyms), giving over five hundred terms a deeper and more personal connotation.
