Juan Antonio Almanado nos presenta su nuevo trabajo, un libro de adivinanzas sobre el mundo animal y dedicado al público infantil
En nuestro Rincón Literario más navideño conocemos el último trabajo del escritor y poeta Juan Antonio Almanado, editado por Babidibú. En esta ocasión, Almanado cambia completamente de registro dedicando su poesía en esta obra al público infantil con una bella colección de adivinanzas con las que los más pequeños podrán conocer e identificar a diferentes especies del mundo animal.
Tal y como nos cuenta el autor, la inspiración para esta obra parte precisamente del miembro más pequeño de su familia, “la he hecho por mi nieto Máximo, que a pesar de su temprana edad (poco más de dos años) ya disfruta muchísimo cuando tiene un libro en sus manos”.
La obra se presenta en español e inglés, englobando por tanto literatura, naturaleza e idiomas. “El objetivo de ‘Divina Naturaleza’ es conseguir que los niños conozcan mejor a los animales y la naturaleza en forma de juego, a través de las adivinanzas escritas en poesía. Por eso ‘Adivina adivinanza, aprender así no cansa’ es el lema principal de este trabajo”, comenta Almanado.
La vocación didáctica está presente en cada detalle de la obra, tal y como nos explica su autor “He incorporado algunas palabras difíciles con la idea de enriquecer el vocabulario de los niños. Y para que puedan descubrir su significado se ha incluido un código QR donde encontrarán todas estas palabras definidas y ordenadas alfabéticamente e incluso imprimirlas. A este pequeño diccionario lo he llamado El Cofre de las Palabras Desconocidas”.
Para la elaboración del libro Juan Antonio ha contado con diversos colaboradores de plena confianza. “Mi nuera, Noelia Muñoz, es diseñadora gráfica y ha realizado un trabajo magnífico de ilustración y maquetación. Cristina Maruri, abogada y escritora, ha hecho la sinopsis y un prólogo cautivador, elegante y tierno. Pilar Lobo, profesora de literatura, ha definido las palabras más difíciles de una forma fácil de entender para los jóvenes lectores. Y Andrea Carmona se ha metido en la piel del escritor (o sea yo) para traducir al inglés este libro. Una tarea nada fácil”.
Finalmente, Almanado tiene también palabras de agradecimiento a la editorial Babidibu. “Una de las más importantes en el ámbito infantil. Me han ayudado muchísimo en unos meses apasionantes durante la maquetación para terminar de cincelar este libro”.

‘Divine Nature. Why don’t you guess?’
Juan Antonio Almanado proudly presents his latest publication, a book of riddles about the animal world aimed at younger audiences.
In our most festive edition of the Literary Corner, we present the latest work by author and poet Juan Antonio Almanado, published by Babidibú. On this occasion, Almanado has completely changed direction, dedicating his poetry in this work to an audience of children with a beautiful collection of riddles with which the little ones can learn about and identify different species from the animal world.
As the author tells us, the inspiration for this publication comes precisely from the youngest member of his family, «I wrote it for my grandson Máximo, who despite his young age (he is just over two years old) already thoroughly enjoys himself when he has a book in his hands.»
The book is published in both Spanish and English, thus encompassing literature, nature, and languages. «The aim of ‘Divine Nature’ is to help children get to know animals and nature better in the form of a game, through riddles written in poetry. That’s why ‘Riddle me this … Learning like this will never be boring.’ is the main motto of this work,» says Almanado.
Educational vocation is present in every detail of the book, as the author explains: «I have incorporated some difficult words with the idea of enriching the children’s vocabulary. A QR code has been provided so that they can discover the meaning of the words, where they can find all these words defined and ordered alphabetically and can even print them out. I have called this little dictionary ‘The Treasure Chest of Unknown Words’.
Juan Antonio has worked with a number of trusted collaborators to produce such a book. «My daughter-in-law, Noelia Muñoz, is a graphic designer and has carried out a wonderful job of illustrating and laying out the book. Cristina Maruri, lawyer and writer, has written the synopsis and a captivating, elegant and tender prologue. Pilar Lobo, literature teacher, has defined the most difficult words in a way that is easy for young readers to understand. And Andrea Carmona has stepped into the writer’s shoes (that is me) to translate this book into English. Not an easy task.»
To conclude, Almanado would also like to thank Babidibu, «one of the most important publishers in the field of children’s books. They have helped me a lot during some exciting months with the layout of the book so as to finish shaping it.»
