El Ayuntamiento de Casares culmina la renovación de este sendero que transcurre en torno al casco urbano de El Secadero, ofreciendo a las familias un espacio cercano para disfrutar de la naturaleza, el arte y aprender sobre la fauna local

A partir de este mes de febrero, y a pocos minutos de Sotogrande, podremos encontrar un sendero único, sencillo de recorrer, y lleno de arte y enseñanzas sobre su entorno natural, el Sendero Mágico ‘El Ruiseñor’ en El Secadero.

Aunque este sendero ya fue creado hace años, en los últimos meses ha sido objeto de una renovación completa por parte del Ayuntamiento de Casares, al que pertenece esta pedanía malagueña, con el objetivo de convertirlo en un espacio más accesible, didáctico y visualmente atractivo para toda la familia.

De esta forma, se ha conseguido completar un sendero que no sólo ofrece una agradable paseo, sino que también supone una propuesta educativa ideal para introducir a los más pequeños en la biodiversidad y el respeto por la naturaleza.

‘El Ruiseñor’ recorre los alrededores del núcleo urbano de El Secadero y con esta obra se ha mejorado su trazado y embellecido aún más su entorno. La intervención, con una inversión municipal superior a los 260.000 euros, ha centrado sus esfuerzos en mejorar el recorrido peatonal y optimizar los accesos desde diferentes calles del pueblo, renovando además su diseño paisajístico.

Concretamente la renovación ha incluido la instalación de un firme más duradero, la mejora de las escaleras, aceras y accesos, y la dotación de mobiliario urbano y cartelería informativa. El sendero, ahora incluso más accesible, mantiene su trazado sencillo y sin grandes desniveles. Un diseño pensado especialmente para que pueda disfrutarlo cualquier usuario, independientemente de su edad o capacidad física, lo que lo hace idóneo para personas con movilidad reducida o carritos de bebé.

Todo este nuevo equipamiento hace del Sendero Mágico ‘El Ruiseñor’ una opción perfecta para disfrutar en familia, para lo que se han instalado además bancos y mesas de picnic, de forma que sus visitantes puedan descansar y disfrutar sin prisas de la naturaleza en un entorno tranquilo, pero cercano a la población.

Un sendero didáctico sobre la fauna local

Una de las grandes novedades del Sendero Mágico ‘El Ruiseñor’ es la incorporación de figuras escultóricas que representan diversas especies de la fauna local. Estas esculturas, creadas por el artista Diego Guerrero, están elaboradas en madera y otros materiales naturales, lo que minimiza su impacto ambiental y permite una mayor integración en su entorno.

Diego Guerrero, afincado en el municipio malagueño de Parauta desde hace décadas, es precisamente muy reconocido por sus trabajos en madera, con representaciones naturales, como en este caso, figuras abstractas, o espectaculares retratos tallados. Aunque también es muy conocida su participación en el ‘Bosque Mágico’ en el propio Parauta con figuras de duendes y hadas, en los últimos veinte años, y partiendo desde este pequeño pueblo del Valle del Genal, sus obras han recorrido medio mundo, llegando a capitales europeas como Bruselas y París, y a destinos más lejanos como EEUU, Japón, Canadá, Argentina o Israel.

Gracias a sus obras ya presentes en El Secadero, el recorrido de este sendero está acompañado de una variedad de simpáticas representaciones de especies animales que pueden encontrarse en los espacios naturales del municipio, principalmente insectos y aves, pero también pequeños anfibios y moluscos. De esta forma, el visitante podrá ver durante su paseo figuras de mariposas, libélulas, abejas, hormigas o escarabajos, así como ranas, caracoles, búhos y especialmente, el ruiseñor que da nombre al sendero.

Estas esculturas no sólo decoran el paisaje, sino que cumplen una función educativa ya que cada una de ellas viene acompañada de una breve leyenda o explicación sobre la especie representada. Este enfoque permite que los más pequeños aprendan de manera divertida sobre los animales autóctonos y la importancia de la biodiversidad local.

Además del protagonismo dedicado a las aves en su idea original, en su ampliación y mejora se han incluido en el Sendero ‘El Ruiseñor’ otras figuras como las de los mencionados insectos, especialmente con el objetivo de exponer al visitante la importancia que también tienen estos pequeños habitantes del ecosistema local en la conservación del medio ambiente.

Precisamente, alumnos de Casares y El Secadero serán los primeros en disfrutar de las novedades en el Sendero Mágico ‘El Ruiseñor’ en su inauguración prevista para la última semana de febrero, con lo que ese objetivo didáctico de fomentar el respeto a la naturaleza y entorno local se inicia con los propios escolares del municipio, aunque a partir de entonces desde ese día queda abierto a cualquier visitante.

The Magical Trail ‘El Ruiseñor’: a family and educational walk in El Secadero

Casares City Council completes the renovation of this trail that runs around the town centre of El Secadero, offering families a nearby space to enjoy nature, art and learn about the local fauna.

Starting this February, and just a few minutes from Sotogrande, we will be able to find a unique trail, easy to follow, and full of art and teachings about its natural environment, the Magical Trail ‘El Ruiseñor’ in El Secadero.

Although this trail was already created years ago, in recent months it has been the subject of a complete renovation by the Casares City Council, to which this Malaga district belongs, with the aim of turning it into a more accessible, educational and visually attractive space for the whole family.

Thus, a trail has been created that not only offers a pleasant walk, but is also an ideal educational proposal to introduce the children to biodiversity and respect for nature.

‘El Ruiseñor’ runs around the town centre of El Secadero and with this work its layout has been improved and its surroundings have been further beautified. The intervention, with a municipal investment of over 260,000 euros, has focused its efforts on improving the pedestrian route and optimising access from different streets in the town, also renewing its landscape design.

Specifically, the renovation has included the installation of a more durable surface, the improvement of stairs, pavements and accesses, and the provision of street furniture and informative signage. The trail, now even more accessible, maintains its simple layout and without major unevenness. A design specially crafted so that any user can enjoy it, regardless of their age or physical ability, which makes it ideal for people with reduced mobility or baby strollers.

All this new equipment makes the Magic Trail ‘El Ruiseñor’ a perfect option to enjoy with the family, for which benches and picnic tables have also been installed, so that visitors can rest and enjoy nature at their leisure in a peaceful environment, but close to the town.

An educational trail about local fauna

One of the great innovations of the Magical Path ‘El Ruiseñor’ is the incorporation of sculptural figures that represent various species of the local fauna. These sculptures, created by the artist Diego Guerrero, are made of wood and other natural materials, which minimises their environmental impact and allows for greater integration into their surroundings.

Diego Guerrero, who has lived in the Malaga municipality of Parauta for decades, is precisely well-known for his works in wood, with natural representations, such as in this case, abstract figures, or spectacular carved portraits. Although his participation in the ‘Magical Forest’ in Parauta itself with figures of elves and fairies is also well-known, in the last twenty years, his artworks have travelled halfway around the world all the way from this small town in the Genal Valley, reaching European capitals such as Brussels and Paris, and more distant destinations such as the USA, Japan, Canada, Argentina or Israel.

Thanks to the artworks already present in El Secadero, the route of this trail is accompanied by a variety of friendly representations of animal species that can be found in the municipality’s natural spaces, mainly insects and birds, as well as small amphibians and mollusks. In this way, the visitor will be able to see sculptures of butterflies, dragonflies, bees, ants or beetles, as well as frogs, snails, owls and especially, the nightingale that gives the trail its name during their walk.

These sculptures not only decorate the landscape, but also fulfill an educational function since each one of them is accompanied by a brief explanation about the species represented therein. This approach allows the children to learn about native animals and the importance of local biodiversity in a fun way.

In addition to the prominence given to birds in its original idea, other figures such as the aforementioned insects have been included in the ‘El Ruiseñor’ Trail in its extension and improvement. Especially with the aim of showing visitors the importance that these small inhabitants of the local ecosystem also have in the conservation of the environment.

Precisely, students from Casares and El Secadero will be the first to enjoy the new features along the ‘El Ruiseñor’ Magic Trail at its inauguration scheduled for the last week of February. Thus, its educational objective of promoting respect for nature and the local environment starts off with the municipality’s own schoolchildren, although from then on, from that day on, it will be open to any visitor.
