El espacio expositivo del conocido restaurante en la Ribera del Marlin inicia 2026 con una exposición conjunta de ambos artistas internacionales, que presentan sus nuevas obras en Sotogrande
Fresco Marina continúa en este 2026 con su decidida apuesta por el arte como perfecto complemento a su extraordinaria oferta gastronómica, participando decisivamente en la programación cultural de Sotogrande.
Desde mediados de diciembre hasta las primeras semanas de enero, el restaurante ubicado en la Ribera del Marlin ha acogido en su galería una exposición conjunta de John Hunter y Doreen Ingebrigtsen, en la que tanto el gibraltareño como la escocesa han presentado nuevas obras. Además, el pasado 11 de enero ambos protagonizaron un especial evento en el que los asistentes pudieron conversar directamente con los artistas mientras disfrutaban de sus obras en Fresco Marina.
John Hunter, el talento detrás de Venandi Art, ha mostrado algunas de sus obras más recientes como “Ostras», «Subconsciente» o “Dream Space», entre otras, en las que ahonda en el estilo único y cautivador que le caracteriza.
Natural del Reino Unido, John se estableció en Gibraltar en la década de 1980. Influenciado por artistas como Jackson Pollock y Damien Hirst, ha desarrollado una técnica que combina caos y precisión, utilizando pintura, resina y pegamento para crear piezas abstractas vibrantes y estimulantes, como las que presenta en Fresco Marinapresent. A través de Venandi Art, se ha ganado una reputación consolidada por su audaz espíritu experimental y la calidad de su trabajo artístico.
Por su parte, Doreen Ingebrigtsen ha presentado nuevas obras de su serie “En Peligro”, centrada en grandes felinos en las que muestra la majestuosidad y belleza de estos animales, pero también expresa su denuncia y preocupación por la caza voraz a la que están siendo sometidas, hasta casi la extinción.
Escocesa de nacimiento y formada en Australia, Doreen reside actualmente en Sotogrande, tras pasar temporadas en las Baleares, Francia y Estados Unidos. Su producción artística, centrada en óleos y acrílicos, refleja la influencia de creadores de diferentes partes del mundo y ha ido evolucionando hacia un realismo muy adecuado para sus obras sobre fauna salvaje, sin perder su gusto por la libertad expresiva del arte abstracto.

From mid-December to the first weeks of January, the restaurant on the Ribera del Marlin hosted a joint exhibition by John Hunter and Doreen Ingebrigtsen, where both the Gibraltarian and the Scottish artist presented new works. Additionally, on the 11th of January, they held a special event where attendees could speak directly with the artists while enjoying their works at Fresco Marina.
John Hunter, the talent behind Venandi Art, showcased some of his most recent pieces such as Oysters, Subconscious, and Dream Space, among others, exploring the unique and captivating style for which he is known.
Originally from the United Kingdom, John settled in Gibraltar in the 1980s. Influenced by artists such as Jackson Pollock and Damien Hirst, he has developed a technique that combines chaos and precision, using paint, resin, and glue to create vibrant and stimulating abstract pieces, like those on display at Fresco Marina. Through Venandi Art, he has earned a solid reputation for his bold experimental spirit and the quality of his artistic work.
Meanwhile, Doreen Ingebrigtsen presented new works from her series In Danger, focused on large felines, capturing their majesty and beauty while also expressing concern and protest over the rampant hunting that is pushing them nearly to extinction.
Born in Scotland and trained in Australia, Doreen currently resides in Sotogrande, having spent time in the Balearic Islands, France, and the United States. Her artistic production, centred on oils and acrylics, reflects influences from creators worldwide and has evolved towards a realism perfectly suited to her wildlife works, while maintaining her appreciation for the expressive freedom of abstract art.
