El nuevo parque temático infantil, inspirado en el yacimiento arqueológico de origen romano de Guadiaro, cuenta con diferentes atracciones y elementos de juego en sus 2.500 m2 de superficie
El pasado 29 de enero se inauguró el parque infantil ‘Barbésula’, un espacio temático dedicado al público infantil situado en el recinto ferial de Guadiaro.
Numerosas familias del Valle del Guadiaro y del resto del municipio no quisieron perderse la jornada inaugural en la que cientos de pequeños, algunos de ellos acudieron vestidos de romanos para la ocasión, pudieron disfrutar de las diferentes atracciones que incluye este parque temático, además de otras actividades como animación infantil, pintacaras y globoflexia para su apertura.
La construcción del Parque Barbésula, el primero temático de los que ya se planifican para otras zonas del municipio, se incluía en el Plan Local de Inversiones del Ayuntamiento, y se adjudicó a la empresa Drainsal SLU por 1.152.000 euros. En este caso, la temática del nuevo parque infantil de Guadiaro es romana, ya que se ha tomado como referencia el yacimiento arqueológico de Barbésula.
El alcalde, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, fue el encargado de cortar la cinta inaugural del nuevo Parque Barbésula. También asistieron otros miembros del Gobierno Local, como las responsables de Emadesa y Valle del Guadiaro, Belén Jiménez y Eva Gil, o el delegado de Contratación, Óscar Ledesma, junto a otros miembros de la Corporación.
Descripción del parque
‘Barbésula’ se sitúa en una parcela de unos 2.500 metros cuadrados, situada en el recinto ferial de Guadiaro. El origen romano de la barriada se ve representado en la temática de todos sus elementos de juego, en el cerramiento y en los pavimentos, evocando todo el conjunto una ciudad romana a orillas del río Guadiaro.
El cerramiento del parque se ha tematizado con columnas de acero con capitel, jugando con dos alturas distintas, que simulan ser las famosas columnas romanas. Cuenta con un camino de caucho, que simula ser una calzada romana y ayuda a recorrer el parque por todas sus zonas.
El parque dispone de varios elementos destacados, como un gran fuerte de 20 metros de largo y 6 metros de alto cuyo interior pueden recorrer los niños hasta terminar deslizándose por dos grandes toboganes de acero inoxidable que salen de su interior. También cuenta con un gran columpio axial de gran formato, sustentado por 8 columnas tematizadas, y un columpio con cesta nido.
Si avanzamos por el camino que simula la calzada romana encontramos un elemento, a modo de glorieta, consistente en un carrusel inclusivo, también protegido con carpa. A la derecha se han dispuesto dos elementos espectaculares, una gran colchoneta de salto circular de 14 metros de diámetro y tematizada con elementos romanos, rodeada de arena. Alrededor de esta gran colchoneta se dispone una estructura metálica con distintos arcos romanos dispuestos en tres pisos, que simula ser un coliseo y cuenta también con elementos de juego de trepa de cuerdas.
Además se ha instalado otra colchoneta, en este caso de 6 metros de diámetro, con forma de escudo romano y perímetro de arena. La última zona de juegos es el río, pavimentado en caucho azul, donde se ha ubicado un gran barco romano de 15 metros de longitud con múltiples juegos, así como 3 muelles para los más pequeños, protegidos por carpas.
Entre el elemento río y el borde del parque se dispone una franja ajardinada en césped natural y arboleda, que hace alusión al margen contrario del río, San Enrique. Finalmente, se ha dotado al parque de alumbrado público independiente y mobiliario urbano compuesto por bancos, papeleras y una fuente de agua potable.
El primer parque temático del municipio
Con la apertura de ‘Barbésula’ ya ha entrado en funcionamiento el primer parque temático del municipio de San Roque. A lo largo de los próximos meses se irán incorporando nuevas instalaciones de este tipo dedicadas al ocio de los más pequeños que complementarán a los más de 30 parques infantiles que ya disfruta la población sanroqueña en la actualidad.
Tal y como adelantó el alcalde Ruiz Boix en la inauguración en Guadiaro, habrá como mínimo cuatro parques temáticos en todo el término municipal, uno en cada distrito, y cada uno de ellos con un tema diferente y vinculado a la historia de las distintas zonas en las que se ubiquen. El previsto en la zona de la Bahía, por ejemplo, tendrá el mar como temática de referencia.

The new children’s theme park, inspired by the Roman archaeological site of Guadiaro, has different attractions and games on its 2,500 m2 surface area.
On the 29th of January, the children’s playground ‘Barbésula’ was inaugurated, a thematic area dedicated to children located in the fairgrounds of Guadiaro.
Numerous families from the Guadiaro Valley and the rest of the municipality were present on the opening day, where hundreds of children, some of them dressed as Romans to celebrate the occasion, were able to enjoy the different attractions included in this theme park. There were also other activities such as children’s entertainment, face painting and balloon artists for the opening of the park.
The construction of the Barbésula Park, the first theme park of the ones being planned for other areas of the municipality, was included in the Local Investment Plan of the Town Hall and was awarded to the company Drainsal SLU for 1,152,000 euros. In this case, the new playground in Guadiaro has a Roman theme, as the archaeological site of Barbésula was used as a reference.
The Mayor, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, was in charge of cutting the inaugural ribbon of the new Barbésula Park. Other members of the Local Government also attended, such as Belén Jiménez and Eva Gil, the heads of Emadesa and Valle del Guadiaro, and Óscar Ledesma, the delegate for Procurement, together with other members of the Corporation.
Park description
‘Barbésula’ is situated on a 2,500 square metre plot of land, located in the Guadiaro fairgrounds. The Roman origin of the neighbourhood is represented in the theme of all its games facilities, in the enclosure and in the paving, reminiscent of a Roman city on the banks of the river Guadiaro.
The enclosure of the park has been themed with steel columns with spires, simulating the famous Roman columns, at two different heights. It has a rubber path, which simulates a Roman road and allows visitors to walk through all areas of the park.
The park has several outstanding elements, such as a large fort, which is 20 metres long and 6 metres high, inside of which children can walk around and then slide down two large stainless steel slides that come out of the inside of the fort. There is also a large axial swing, supported by 8 themed columns, and a swing with a nesting basket.
If we continue along the path that simulates the Roman road, we find another feature, in the form of a roundabout, a carousel, which is also protected by a marquee. To the right there are two spectacular structures, a large circular jumping mat of 14 metres in diameter and themed with Roman motifs and surrounded by sand. Surrounding this large mat there is a metal structure with different Roman arches arranged on three floors, simulating a coliseum structure, which also has rope climbing game elements.
In addition, there is another playground mat, in this case measuring 6 metres in diameter, in the shape of a Roman shield surrounded by sand. The last play area is the river, paved in blue rubber, where a large 15-metre long Roman boat has been placed along with a variety of games, in addition to 3 piers for the little ones to play at, each protected by marquees.
Between the river and the edge of the park there is a landscaped strip of natural grass and trees, which hints at the river’s opposite bank, namely San Enrique. Finally, the park has been provided with independent street lighting and street fixtures consisting of benches, litter bins and a drinking fountain.
The municipality’s first theme park
The opening of ‘Barbésula’ marks the beginning of the functioning of the first theme park in the municipality of San Roque. New facilities of this type aimed at children’s entertainment will be opened over the next few months, complementing the more than 30 playgrounds that the people of San Roque already enjoy nowadays.
As Mayor Ruiz Boix announced at the inauguration in Guadiaro, there will be at least four theme parks throughout the municipality, one in each district, each with a different theme and linked to the history of the different areas in which they are located. For instance, the one foreseen in the Bay area will be themed around the sea.
