En esta nueva edición queremos destacar dos temas clave para nuestra comunidad. Por un lado, la celebración del 8M nos brindó la oportunidad de reflexionar sobre el papel fundamental que desempeñan las mujeres en todos los ámbitos de la sociedad. En esta ocasión, quisimos rendir homenaje a un grupo excepcional de mujeres empresarias que, con su esfuerzo y dedicación, contribuyen al desarrollo y bienestar de Sotogrande.
Desde la educación y el deporte hasta la belleza, la restauración y la decoración, estas emprendedoras han consolidado negocios que no sólo generan empleo, sino que también contribuyen a nuestro estilo de vida único para quienes residen y visitan nuestra zona. Su visión, talento y capacidad de innovación son ejemplos claros de que el liderazgo femenino es un motor de progreso. En nuestro encuentro mensual, pudimos compartir experiencias, intercambiar ideas y reconocer el impacto positivo que tienen en la comunidad.
Por otro lado, no podemos pasar por alto las recientes inclemencias meteorológicas que han afectado a nuestra región. Los sucesivos temporales dejaron varias incidencias que llegaron a poner en alerta a los servicios de emergencias, pero también han traído consigo un beneficio tan repentino como necesario, el importante aumento en nuestras reservas de agua. En la entrevista con José Manuel Alcántara, director general de Aguas y Servicios del Campo de Gibraltar, analizamos el estado actual de nuestros embalses y su impacto en el futuro inmediato.
Este incremento de las reservas de agua augura una primavera llena de vida en Sotogrande, ofreciendo paisajes que invitan al disfrute y al optimismo. Confiamos en que esta combinación de cohesión de nuestra comunidad y riqueza natural siga marcando el rumbo de nuestro querido Sotogrande.

Women, Community and Nature: Sotogrande’s Heartbeat
We would like to highlight two key issues for our community in this edition. On the one hand, the celebration of the 8th of March gave us the opportunity to reflect on the fundamental role that women play in all areas of society. On this occasion, we wanted to pay tribute to an exceptional group of women entrepreneurs who, with their effort and dedication, contribute to the development and wellbeing of Sotogrande.
From education and sport to beauty, catering and decoration, these entrepreneurs have consolidated businesses that not only generate employment, but also contribute to the unique lifestyle of those who live in and visit our area. Their vision, talent and capacity for innovation are clear examples that female leadership is a driving force for progress. At our monthly meeting, we were able to share experiences, exchange ideas and recognise the positive impact they have on the community.
On the other hand, we cannot overlook the recent adverse weather conditions that have affected our region. The successive storms left several incidents that even put the emergency services on alert, but they have also brought with them a benefit as sudden as it was necessary, a significant increase in our water reserves. In the interview with José Manuel Alcántara, General Manager of Aguas y Servicios del Campo de Gibraltar, we analyse the current state of our reservoirs and their impact on the immediate future.
This increase in water reserves bodes well for a spring full of life in Sotogrande, offering landscapes that invite enjoyment and optimism. We trust that this combination of community cohesion and natural wealth will continue to set the course for our beloved Sotogrande.
