La admisión de obras para el IV Certamen de Relatos y el VII Certamen de Poesía ‘Puerto Sotogrande’ queda abierta hasta el próximo 31 de agosto
Puerto Sotogrande mantiene un año más su tradicional faceta de promoción de la cultura con la convocatoria de sus ya consolidados certámenes literarios: el IV Certamen de Relatos y el VII Certamen de Poesía. Organizados en colaboración con el Taller de Escritura Palabreando, la Asociación Hércules Cultural, la Torre de Control del Puerto y el Ayuntamiento de San Roque, ambos concursos buscan rendir homenaje al mar y la vida portuaria a través de la escritura.
Con la admisión de obras abierta desde el pasado 1 de abril, hasta el próximo 31 de agosto de 2025, podrán participar personas mayores de edad nacidas o residentes en España, presentando obras inéditas escritas en castellano. El requisito principal sobre el tema de las obras en ambos certámenes, tanto en relatos como en poemas, es que el mar y el puerto deberán ser protagonistas esenciales. Las bases excluyen textos con contenido negativo, discriminatorio o violento.
El IV Certamen de Relatos contempla una extensión de entre 150 y 1.000 palabras, mientras que el VII Certamen de Poesía admite un poema único o conjunto de poemas que no superen los 60 versos. Cada participante podrá presentar una única obra por categoría.
Como incentivo para los participantes, se han previsto premios únicos y originales que invitan a experimentar el entorno de Sotogrande de una forma singular, como estancias en la exclusiva casa flotante Little Paris, paseos en velero por el puerto, cenas en reconocidos restaurantes de la zona, y otras actividades culturales que, al igual que los concursos, vinculan el mar y la literatura.
El fallo del jurado y la entrega de premios tendrán lugar durante el próximo Encuentro Poético-Musical de Puerto Sotogrande, que en este año cumplirá su VIII edición y cuya fecha exacta se anunciará tras la deliberación final. Ambos certámenes literarios se han convertido en una de las citas culturales más esperadas del calendario cultural local y regional, recibiendo cada año obras de autores de diferentes partes de Andalucía y otros puntos de España. Puerto Sotogrande announces the 2025 edition of its literary competitions
Submissions are now open for the 4th Short Story Competition and the 7th Poetry Competition ‘Puerto Sotogrande’, with the deadline set for the 31st of August.
Puerto Sotogrande continues its longstanding commitment to cultural promotion with the announcement of its well-established literary competitions: the 4th Short Story Competition and the 7th Poetry Competition. Organised in collaboration with the Taller de Escritura Palabreando, the Hércules Cultural Association, the Port Control Tower, and the San Roque Town Council, both contests aim to pay tribute to the sea and port life through the written word.
Submissions, open from the 1st of April until the 31st of August 2025, are welcomed from adults born or residing in Spain, who may submit original, unpublished works written in Spanish. The central requirement for both categories—short stories and poems—is that the sea and the port must play an essential role in the narrative or verse. Entries containing negative, discriminatory, or violent content will be excluded.
The 4th Short Story Competition accepts texts between 150 and 1,000 words, while the 7th Poetry Competition allows for a single poem or a collection of poems not exceeding 60 lines. Each participant may submit only one entry per category.
As an incentive for participants, unique and original prizes have been arranged, offering the chance to experience Sotogrande in a truly special way. These include stays in the exclusive floating house Little Paris, sailing trips around the harbour, dinners at renowned local restaurants, and other cultural activities that, much like the competitions themselves, make the link between the sea and literature the main course.
The jury’s decision and the awards ceremony will take place during the upcoming Poetic-Musical Gathering of Puerto Sotogrande, which this year will celebrate its 8th edition. The exact date will be announced following the final deliberation. Both literary contests have become key highlights in the local and regional cultural calendar, attracting entries each year from authors across Andalusia and other parts of Spain.
