Hoy me van a permitir una pequeña licencia literaria o periodística. Tengo el síndrome de Noé, lo reconozco. Después de no sé cuantos días en los que lo más parecido al sol que veíamos era la luz del salón de los vecinos… ¡Ya hice un excel recopilando información y nombres de golfistas que iba a meter dentro de la jábega (mi lado malagueño sale en el ejemplo de este barco pesquero típico de malagueño) y he ido recopilando algunos nombres que no me quiero perder y que serían imprescindibles para tener en nuestra particular Jábega de Juanje!
Siendo realistas, todos esos cientos de litros acumulados que han caído en nuestra región en las últimas semanas son oro para nuestros pantanos, para las necesidades de consumo que tenemos asegurados para los próximos años. ¡Bendito líquido elemento! Ver de nuevo correr arroyos o el Río Guadiaro con esa intensidad me rememora aquellos años en los años ochenta y noventa… ¡Y nuestros campos también agradecen estos litros de agua que han caído desde finales de febrero!
Es cierto que, a priori, a más de uno las jornadas consecutivas de lluvia ha podido resultarle algo incómodas porque no han podido perfeccionar su swing pero ¡tranquilos que esto es Andalucía y siempre sale el sol! En el sentido estricto de la palabra. Y los equipos de trabajo de cada uno de los campos de nuestro municipio han trabajado muy intensamente para poner de manera óptima cada uno de los recorridos de cara a este 2025. ¡Primavera prepárate que este año no paramos de jugar al golf!
Siempre me gusta decirles a mis amigos allende nuestras fronteras que en Andalucía jugamos al golf 365 días al año con sol, es uno de los claims que siempre he utilizado porque nuestra región es inmensamente dispar geográficamente hablando y siempre hay sol en algún lugar de Andalucía.
Todo esto nos ayuda a presumir de albergar a algunos de los mejores campos de golf del panorama internacional y que seamos referente del turismo deportivo y de golf a nivel mundial. Creedme que estas lluvias nos van a ayudar a mostrar, más si cabe, un lugar idílico a todos los golfistas que nos visitan temporada tras temporada así que… ¡Bendita lluvia pero por favor la próxima vez avísame para que me compre una Jábega más grande para meter a más golfistas! Ready to play!

Noah’s Syndrome
Please allow me a little literary or journalistic licence today. I have Noah’s syndrome, I admit it. After many days in which the closest thing we saw to the sun was the light from the neighbours’ living room… I have already made an excel file compiling information and names of golfers that I was going to put inside the jabega (my Malaga character came out in the mentioning of this typical Malaga fishing boat) and I have been compiling some names that I don’t want to miss and that would be essential to have in our particular Juanje’s Jabega!
Realistically, all those hundreds of accumulated litres that have fallen in our region in the last few weeks are gold for our reservoirs, for the consumption needs that we are assured for the next few years. Blessed liquid element! Seeing the streams and the River Guadiaro flowing again with such intensity reminds me of those years in the eighties and nineties… And our fields are also grateful for these litres of water that have fallen since the end of February!
It is true that, a priori, the consecutive days of rain may have been somewhat uncomfortable for more than one of us, because some people may have not been able to perfect their swing during this time, but don’t worry, this is Andalusia and the sun always comes out in the end! In the strictest sense of the phrase. And the teams working on each of the courses in our municipality have been at it very hard to get each of the courses ready for this 2025 season. Spring, get ready, this year we will not stop playing golf!
I always like to tell my friends beyond our borders that in Andalusia we play golf 365 days a year thanks to our sunshine. It is one of the claims I have always made use of, because our region is immensely disparate geographically speaking and there is always sunshine somewhere in Andalusia.
This helps us to boast some of the best golf courses on the international scene and we are a reference point for sports and golf tourism worldwide. Believe me, these rains are going to help us to show even more, if possible, what an idyllic place to all the golfers who visit us every season Sotogrande is… Blessed rain, though please next time let me know with anticipation so I can buy a bigger jabega in which I can put more golfers! We are ready to play!
