Atelier Estética se hace con el triunfo final en la cancha habilitada en la playa del Búnker donde, a pesar del temporal, se vivió un gran espectáculo con este torneo autonómico

El VII del Campeonato de Andalucía de Polo Playa se disputó en Sotogrande el pasado 23 y 24 de marzo. La playa del Búnker fue el escenario elegido para acoger esta competición que, tras seis ediciones llevadas a cabo en diferentes enclaves de costa de Andalucía, debutaba en su séptima entrega en Sotogrande.

Atelier Estética, 25 Montes, Bahía Limón Polo Team y Puerto Sotogrande fueron los cuatro equipos en liza en el torneo, que pudo celebrarse al completo a pesar del fuerte temporal que azotó la costa en el primer fin de semana de la primavera de 2024 y que obligó a diversos cambios en la organización prevista inicialmente.

No obstante, este séptimo campeonato regional mostró la espectacularidad de esta variante del polo tradicional, con disputados encuentros sobre la arena para el disfrute del público que se congregó en la carpa instalada para la ocasión junto a la cancha en la playa del Búnker.

Las semifinales disputadas en la jornada del sábado decidieron el cuadro final del torneo, en el que Atelier Estética, formado por Ignacio González, John Fishney y Alicia Valema Gariador, se hizo con el Campeonato Andaluz tras superar por 4-2 al trío representante de 25 Montes compuesto por Rosendo Torreguitar, Marcos Carnero y Clarina Pickler.

En el partido por el tercer puesto, Bahía Limón Polo Team, integrado por Gabriel Iglesias Jr, Santiago Oubiña y Josephine Lorenz, se impuso por 2-0 a Puerto Sotogrande, compuesto por Guillermo Moriconi, Walter Garguglia y Jaime Lleó.

El VII Campeonato de Andalucía contó con la organización de la Federación Andaluza de Polo, la Junta de Andalucía y Puerto Sotogrande. Los directores del torneo, Diego Hernández y Daniel ‘Pelu’ Gariador mostraron su satisfacción por el resultado final de la cita, a pesar de las adversas condiciones meteorológicas que tuvieron que afrontar, y confirmaron a SGplus la organización de nuevas citas de polo playa en Sotogrande en los próximos meses.

Sotogrande holds the 7th edition of the Andalusian Beach Polo Championships

Atelier Estetica wins the final victory on the court set up on the Bunker beach. Despite the storm, a great spectacle was experienced during this regional tournament.

The VII Andalusian Beach Polo Championship was held in Sotogrande on the 23rd and 24th of March. Bunker beach was the venue chosen to host this competition which, after six editions held in different coastal enclaves of Andalusia, debuted with its seventh installment in Sotogrande.

Atelier Estetica, 25 Montes, Bahia Limon Polo Team and Puerto Sotogrande were the four teams competing in the tournament, held in full despite the strong storm that hit the coast during the first weekend of spring in 2024. This forced several changes in the organization that was initially scheduled.

Nevertheless, this seventh regional championship showed the spectacular nature of this variant of traditional polo, with disputed games on the sand to the delight of the public who gathered in the marquee set up for the event and placed next to the court on the Bunker beach.

The semi-finals that took place on Saturday decided the final draw of the tournament, in which Atelier Estetica, formed by Ignacio González, John Fishney and Alicia Valema Gariador, won the Andalusian Championship after beating the trio representing 25 Montes, composed of Rosendo Torreguitar, Marcos Carnero and Clarina Pickler, 4-2.

In the match for third place, Bahía Limón Polo Team, made up of Gabriel Iglesias Jr, Santiago Oubiña and Josephine Lorenz, won 2-0 against Puerto Sotogrande, made up of Guillermo Moriconi, Walter Garguglia and Jaime Lleó.

The VII Andalusian Championship was organised by the Andalusian Polo Federation, the Andalusian Regional Government and Puerto Sotogrande. The tournament directors, Diego Hernandez and Daniel ‘Pelu’ Gariador were pleased with the event’s overall outcome, despite the adverse weather conditions they had to face. They also confirmed to us that they will be organising further beach polo events in Sotogrande in the coming months.
