Es momento de ir poniendo un punto final a un 2023 repleto de momentos únicos que se quedaran en nuestra retina para siempre. Hemos hablado en los últimos meses de grandes eventos deportivos y turísticos que han visitado nuestra zona en particular y Andalucía en general. Como muestra de ello son la celebración de la LIV Golf Series en RC Valderrama allá por el principio de verano o la disputa del Estrella Damm NA Andalucía Masters 2023 en una nueva sede única como es el Real Club de Golf Sotogrande que tan buen estado de satisfacción ha dejado entre los jugadores y aficionados de todo el mundo…
Mención especial merece, por supuesto, la Solheim Cup 2023 celebrada en Finca Cortesín y que fue un éxito competitivo con ese último putt embocado por la navarra Carlota Ciganda y que suponía que el trofeo se quedaba, una edición más, en territorio europeo.
No podemos, ni queremos, olvidarnos del Open de España Femenino celebrado en el Real Club Las Brisas de Marbella. Nueva Andalucía fue, nuevamente, escenario del mejor golf femenino del Ladies European Tour con la celebración del Open de España con una Carlota Ciganda a nivel estelar una vez más. Otra prueba más de que en Andalucía tenemos más de 110 campos de golf que nos sitúan a la vanguardia como el mejor destino de golf de Europa. No en vano, la industria turístico-deportiva sigue en auge aportando factor desestacionalizador a las temporadas estivales.
Pero Andalucía es, además, sede de los mejores eventos deportivos del panorama nacional e internacional. La celebración del mundial de Motociclismo en Jerez de la Frontera en marzo o las últimas pruebas del Mundial de Superbikes hace escasas fechas sitúan a nuestra región en uno de los must para los amantes del motor y de las dos ruedas.
Y si hablamos de velocidad, pero esta vez sobre el mar, tenemos que referirnos ineludiblemente hablando de Sail GP, la denominada F1 del mar que ha tenido en la Bahía de Cádiz una parada obligada para la disputa de una de las pruebas más emocionantes del calendario anual.
Baloncesto, Rugby, Polo, Ski y sin olvidarnos del Tenis y el Pádel. La disputa de la fase final de la Billy Jean King Cup en Sevilla o de las finales de la Copa Davis en Málaga. Dos eventos de máxima importancia que unido a las excelentes instalaciones que tenemos en nuestra comunidad hacen de Andalucía una sede fija para estos circuitos mundiales.
La celebración de las distintas Copa de Bronce, Copa de Plata y la inmensa Copa de Oro de Polo celebrada en verano en Sotogrande no hacen nada más que refrendar la excelente oferta deportiva de primerísimo nivel que atesora San Roque en este aspecto y que la sitúan a la cabeza de los mejores enclaves para presenciar a las mejores figuras del Polo del mundo. Santa María Polo Club y Ayala Polo Club son buena prueba de ello…
Pero entre los más de 150 eventos deportivos de primer nivel celebrados en Andalucía hay cabida para todos los deportes. Los E-Sports conforman el presente del turismo deportivo del futuro con la industria de los videojuegos como eje importante dentro del panorama próximo. La celebración de las fases finales de la Kings League y la Queens League en Málaga con un estadio de La Rosaleda lleno hasta la bandera refrendan que en nuestra región todos los deportes y deportistas son las verdaderas estrellas. Andalusia, a world-class sporting destination of international renown
It is time to put an end to a 2023 brimming with unique moments that will remain in our memories forever. We have discussed in recent months of great sporting and tourist events that have graced our area particularly and Andalusia in general. As an example of this we can mention the celebration of the LIV Golf Series in RC Valderrama at the beginning of the summer or the Estrella Damm NA Andalucía Masters 2023, held in a new and unique venue as is the Real Club de Golf Sotogrande. This event has left a great feeling of satisfaction among players and fans from all over the world…
The 2023 Solheim Cup held at Finca Cortesín deserves a special mention, of course, as it was a competitive success due to Carlota Ciganda’s last putt, which meant that the trophy stayed, once again, in European soil.
We cannot, nor do we want to, forget the Spanish Ladies Open held at the Real Club Las Brisas in Marbella. Nueva Andalucía was, once again, the scene of the best women’s golf played on the Ladies European Tour with the celebration of the Spanish Open featuring Carlota Ciganda at a world-class level yet again. This is further proof that in Andalusia there are more than 110 golf courses that place us at the forefront of Europe’s best golf destinations. Not surprisingly, the sports tourism industry is still booming, providing a deseasonalising factor to the holiday seasons.
However, Andalusia is also the venue for the best sporting events on the national and international scene. The celebration of the Motorcycle World Championship in Jerez de la Frontera in March and the last rounds of the Superbike World Championship a few days ago make our region one of the essentials for motor and racing enthusiasts.
Speaking of speed, but this time at sea, we must inevitably refer to Sail GP, the so-called F1 of the sea, which has made the Bay of Cadiz an essential stop for one of the most exciting races on the annual schedule.
Basketball, Rugby, Polo, Ski and not to mention Tennis and Padel. The final phase of the Billy Jean King Cup in Seville or the finals of the Davis Cup in Malaga. Two events of the utmost importance which, together with the excellent facilities that we have in our community, make Andalusia a fixed venue for these world circuits.
The celebration of the different Bronze Cup, Silver Cup and the immense Polo Gold Cup held in summer in Sotogrande do absolutely nothing more than endorse the excellent sporting events of the highest level that San Roque treasures regarding this aspect. They place it at the head of the world’s best places in which to witness the greatest polo stars from all over the world. Santa María Polo Club and Ayala Polo Club are excellent proof of this…
Yet among the more than 150 top-level sporting events held in Andalusia, there is always enough room for all sports. E-Sports are the mainstay of sports tourism in the future, with the video game industry as an important part of the upcoming scene. The celebration of the final phases of the Kings League and the Queens League in Malaga with a sold-out La Rosaleda stadium confirms that all sports and sportsmen and women are the real stars of our region.
