En este escaparate de la oferta turística que, un año mas, ya llega en Madrid, el Campo de Gibraltar debería hacer un doble esfuerzo: luchar contra la estacionalidad, y el trabajar por el reparto.
Me refiero a que la oferta vacacional está casi a tope en algún municipio, pero sólo en verano. En el resto del año, excepto algún puente y las cortas vacaciones de Semana Santa y Navidad, esta oferta turística se queda prácticamente vacía. Y de los ocho municipios de nuestra comarca, sólo uno, Tarifa, está sobrepasado. La Línea (por sus razones estructurales) «a tope» y Sotogrande, con su relativamente escasa oferta no da para más. Pero en los demás es insignificante. Esta es la realidad. Y se debería cambiar.
Pueblos preciosos, únicos, como San Roque, Jimena de la Frontera, Castellar de la Frontera, Tesorillo; apenas tienen oferta de alojamiento. Dan para un día de visita, comer bien, y poco más. ¿Cómo se cambia este panorama? No lo sé, no soy, ni de lejos, especialista en estas cuestiones, solo traslado lo que veo, lo que observo, pero los ayuntamientos si tendrían que buscarlos para poner en valor sus riquezas.
O la Diputación Provincial de Cádiz, que está para eso. Fíjense en lo que se ha hecho en estos últimos años en la Sierra de Cádiz: Grazalema, Setenil de las Bodegas, Ubrique, etc. Turismo rural, cortijos, fondas y ventas con alojamiento, Y yo que sé mas. Hay que ir y ver cómo funcionan todo el año.

FITUR AND 2025 EXPECTATIONS
In this year’s tourism showcase in Madrid, the Campo de Gibraltar should make a double effort: to fight against seasonality, and to work for a better distribution.
I mean that the holiday offer is almost at full capacity in some municipalities, but only during the summer. For the rest of the year, except for the odd long weekend and the short Easter and Christmas holidays, this tourist attraction is practically empty. Out of the eight municipalities in our region, only one, Tarifa, is overcrowded. La Linea (for its structural reasons) is » bursting at the seams » and Sotogrande, with its relatively scarce offer, can provide no more. However, for the rest it is insignificant. This is the reality. And it should be changed.
Beautiful, unique villages such as San Roque, Jimena de la Frontera, Castellar de la Frontera, Tesorillo; hardly have any accommodations to offer. How can this situation be changed? I don’t know, I am by no means a specialist in these matters, I only pass on what I can see, what I observe, but the town councils would have to look for ways to make the most of their riches.
Or the Provincial Council of Cádiz, which is in charge of doing just that. Just look at what has been done in recent years in the Sierra de Cádiz: Grazalema, Setenil de las Bodegas, Ubrique, etc. Rural tourism, farmhouses, inns and taverns with lodgings, and who knows what else. One must visit them and see how they function all year round.
