Las canchas de Ayala Polo Club y Los Pinos acogerán durante el mes de abril tres torneos de hándicap 6-8 con jugadores internacionales
El Tour de Primavera de Iberian Polo regresa a Sotogrande en este 2025 para volver a traer en las primeras semanas de la primavera el espectáculo del polo a uno de los enclaves más representativos de este deporte en España.
De esta forma, el Tour organizado bajo la dirección de Pelayo Berazadi, capitán de la selección española Campeona del Mundo en 2022, consolida su apuesta por adelantar el inicio tradicional de la temporada de polo en Sotogrande, demostrando que este deporte tan característico de esta zona también puede disfrutarse más allá de sus fechas habituales en verano.
Para esta edición el Tour de Primavera cuenta con una programación confirmada de tres torneos a lo largo del mes de abril, todos ellos con hándicap 6-8. La Copa Memorial José Ignacio Domecq, del 3 al 13 de abril, es el torneo inaugural del Tour de Primavera, ofreciendo ya los primeros partidos de polo de este 2025 en las sedes de Ayala club y Los Pinos.
Tras esos diez primeros días de competición, la siguiente cita nos llevará ya al tercer fin de semana de abril, del 17 al 20, con una nueva edición de la Copa barón de Strabrock. Finalmente, el torneo que cierra este Tour Primavera 2025 del Iberian Polo Tour se disputará en el último fin de semana de abril, del 24 al 27, con la celebración de la Copa Jerez de Polo.
Hasta el momento, y a la espera de alguna posible incorporación de última hora, son ya ocho los equipos participantes confirmados para este Tour de Primavera: Quinto Elemento, La Capilla, La Esperanza, Real Club de Pineda, Adrenalina, Emlor/Elemental, John Smith y, por supuesto, Almasanta, capitaneado por el propio Pelayo Berazadi, acompañado de Manuel López y Joaquín Castelví.
Dentro de estas ocho formaciones se integran una treintena de jugadores internacionales de procedencia muy diversa, con polistas argentinos y europeos provenientes de: Alemania, Países Bajos, Francia, Suiza, España o Portugal. Entre estos jugadores, además del propio Berazadi, destacan otros conocidos nombres como: Santiago Laborde, Caesar Crasemann; Nicolás López Fuentes, Mario Gómez, Estanislao Grahn, Ezequiel Zubiaurre, Luis Benmergui, Gerardo Mazzini, Walter Cortez y Roberto Iturrioz, entre otros.

Iberian Polo Tour to return in 2025 and advance the polo extravaganza into spring
The Ayala Polo Club and Los Pinos fields will host three 6-8 handicap tournaments with international players during the month of April.
The Iberian Polo Spring Tour returns to Sotogrande in 2025 to bring back the polo extravaganza to one of the most representative locations for this sport in Spain during the first weeks of spring.
Therefore, the Tour organised under the direction of Pelayo Berazadi, captain of the Spanish World Champion team in 2022, reinforces its commitment to bringing forward the traditional start of the polo season in Sotogrande, demonstrating that this sport, so characteristic of the area, can also be enjoyed beyond its usual dates during the summer.
For this year’s edition, the Spring Tour has a confirmed schedule of three tournaments throughout the month of April, all of them with handicap 6-8. The José Ignacio Domecq Memorial Cup, from the 3rd to the 13th of April, is the inaugural tournament of the Spring Tour, offering the first polo matches of this year 2025 at the Ayala Club and Los Pinos.
After these first ten days of competition, the next event will take place on the third weekend of April, from the 17th to the 20th, with a new edition of the Baron Strabrock Cup. Finally, the tournament that closes this Iberian Polo Tour Spring 2025 will be held on the last weekend of April, from the 24th to the 27th, with the Jerez Polo Cup.
