Almoraima Ruiz presenta su primer poemario ‘Me lo dijo el celacanto’

Tras varios años participando en diferentes recitales, certámenes y antologías, la poetisa algecireña ha publicado su primera colección de poemas que ya ha presentado en su ciudad natal

Almoraima Ruiz es, desde hace años, una presencia habitual y notoria en diferentes citas poéticas del Campo de Gibraltar, donde comenzó a destacar desde muy joven con sus primeros poemas a través de certámenes como el Premio de poesía LUZ (Tarifa).

Perteneciente a la nueva generación de poetas algecireños junto a otros nombres como Stewart Mundini, Marina Rosado o Angie Pérez entre otros, Almoraima ve publicados ya en 2015 varios de sus poemas en plataformas como ‘La Torre de Montaigne’ y PoetiCAL (Centro Andaluz de las Letras), además de en la antología de voces femeninas Tierra de Calíope (Imagenta, editorial).

En 2016 se publica la plaquette ‘Penúltimo extravío’ y se convierte, gracias a su talento, en una voz asidua en diferentes ciclos de poesía y micros-abiertos de la zona, así como conciertos músico-poéticos con el Grupo Tambora o recitales con otros artistas como los de Open Studio 2019 y 2022.

Esta actividad directa ante el público fue clave para decidirse a elaborar su primer poemario, ya que, como ella misma afirma, cuando acudía a esas citas “siempre recitaba y nada más, hasta que un día, la gente comenzó a preguntarme dónde podía conseguir mis poemas”.

De ahí nace ‘Me lo dijo el celacanto’ (Editorial ‘En Huida’) , una colección de 42 poemas y 80 páginas dividida en seis apartados diferentes “pero con un hilo conductor que los une desde mi yo frente a la poética del mundo en los primeros poemas y el desenlace que transcurre entre desvelos, pájaros y otros paisajes, también humanos, hasta llegar a través de un río y, finalmente, a la voz del celacanto”, describe la autora, que nos explica la elección de “este simbólico pez que se creía extinguido hasta que descubrieron que no, que seguía existiendo y viviendo en lo profundo de los mares abisales”.

En este mes de febrero Almoraima presentó su poemario en el Museo Municipal de su ciudad en un acto en el que la música, otra de sus pasiones, tuvo un destacado papel gracias a la participación de otros artistas algecireños como Manolo Báez y Luz Mota, que además leyó el texto de presentación del escritor David Gónzález Lobo.

 Almoraima Ruiz unveils her first poetry collection ‘Me lo dijo el celacanto’.

After several years of participating in different recitals, competitions and anthologies, the Algeciras-born poet has published her first collection of poems, which she has already presented in her hometown.

Almoraima Ruiz has been a regular and notorious presence in different poetry events in Campo de Gibraltar for years, where she began to stand out at a very young age with her first poems thanks to competitions such as the LUZ Poetry Prize (Tarifa).

Belonging to the new generation of poets from Algeciras along with other names such as Stewart Mundini, Marina Rosado or Angie Pérez among others, Almoraima has already had several of her poems published. In 2015 several of them were published in platforms such as ‘La Torre de Montaigne’ and PoetiCAL (Andalusian Centre of Letters), as well as in ‘Tierra de Calíope’ (Imagenta, publishing house), an anthology collection of women’s voices.

She published the plaquette ‘Penúltimo extravío’ in 2016 and, thanks to her talent, she became a regular voice in different poetry cycles and micro-openings in the area. She also took part in music-poetry concerts with Grupo Tambora and recitals with other artists such as those held at Open Studio in 2019 and 2022.

Such live activity in front of an audience was the key to her decision to write her first collection of poems, since, as she herself says, when she went to these events «I used to recite poetry and that was it, until one day people started to ask me where they could get my poems».

That is the origin of ‘Me lo dijo el celacanto’ (Editorial ‘En Huida’), a collection of 42 poems and 80 pages divided into six different sections “but with a common thread that unites them from my self to the poetics of the world, in the first poems, and the denouement that takes place between sleeplessness, birds and other landscapes, also human, until arriving through a river, finally, to the voice of the coelacanth», describes the author who explains the choice of «this symbolic fish that was believed to be extinct until they discovered that no, it continued to exist and live in the depths of the abyssal seas».

This February Almoraima presented her poetry book in the Municipal Museum of her city in an event in which music, another of her passions, played an important role. This was thanks to the participation of other artists from Algeciras such as Manolo Báez and Luz Mota, who also read the introductory speech written by author David Gónzález Lobo.
