La primera edición del Desafío Sotogrande Solidario ha superado todas las expectativas, consolidándose como una nueva cita deportiva y solidaria de referencia en el calendario del municipio
El evento, organizado por Sotogrande S.A. con la colaboración del Ayuntamiento de San Roque, reunió el pasado sábado 31 de enero en Ribera del Marlin a casi 400 deportistas, en una jornada marcada por el deporte, la convivencia y el compromiso social.
Gracias a la elevada participación, se lograron recaudar 3.728 euros, cantidad que fue entregada a Hogar Betania para apoyar el proyecto de creación de un Aula de Formación. La directora de la entidad, Begoña Arana, agradeció la iniciativa y destacó la importancia de estos fondos para continuar desarrollando su labor social.
En el plano deportivo, la prueba oficial dejó grandes resultados, con Ayad Achraf como vencedor absoluto, seguido por Francisco Morales y Fernando Colado. En categoría femenina, Estefanía Solís se alzó con la victoria, acompañada en el podio por Tamara Tsiklauri y Andrea Cantizano. Además, las carreras no competitivas para categorías infantiles, desde Sub 4 hasta Sub 14, reforzaron el carácter familiar e inclusivo del evento.
El respaldo institucional fue notable, con la presencia de la alcaldesa accidental María del Mar Collado, el teniente de alcalde de Deportes Fernando Vega y otros representantes municipales. Vega subrayó el esfuerzo logístico realizado para garantizar el correcto desarrollo de todas las pruebas y destacó la inclusión del evento en el programa San Roque, Ciudad de los Desafíos.
El éxito del I Desafío Sotogrande Solidario no habría sido posible sin el apoyo de entidades colaboradoras como Sotogrande International School y SO/ Sotogrande, que contribuyeron con actividades paralelas, exhibiciones deportivas y una animada Feria del Corredor. Según Rita Jordao, directora de marketing de Sotogrande S.A., el objetivo de unir deporte y solidaridad “se ha cumplido plenamente”, sentando las bases para futuras ediciones.

Success of the First Sotogrande Solidarity Challenge
The first edition of the Desafío Sotogrande Solidario (Sotogrande Solidarity Challenge) has exceeded all expectations, establishing itself as a new landmark sporting and charitable event in the town’s calendar
The event, organised by Sotogrande S.A. in collaboration with the San Roque Town Hall, brought together nearly 400 athletes last Saturday, 31 January, at Ribera del Marlin in a day marked by sport, community spirit, and social commitment.
Thanks to the high level of participation, €3,728 was raised, which was donated to Hogar Betania to support the project for the creation of a Training Classroom. The director of the organisation, Begoña Arana, expressed her gratitude for the initiative and emphasised the importance of these funds in continuing their social work.
On the sporting side, the official race produced excellent results, with Ayad Achraf taking the overall victory, followed by Francisco Morales and Fernando Colado. In the women’s category, Estefanía Solís claimed first place, accompanied on the podium by Tamara Tsiklauri and Andrea Cantizano. Additionally, the non-competitive races for children’s categories, from Under 4 to Under 14, reinforced the family-friendly and inclusive nature of the event.
Institutional support was notable, with the presence of acting mayor María del Mar Collado, Deputy Mayor for Sports Fernando Vega, and other municipal representatives. Vega highlighted the logistical effort made to ensure the smooth running of all the events and emphasised the inclusion of the challenge in the San Roque, City of Challenges programme.
The success of the first Sotogrande Solidarity Challenge would not have been possible without the support of collaborating organisations such as Sotogrande International School and SO/ Sotogrande, which contributed with parallel activities, sports exhibitions, and a lively Runner’s Fair. According to Rita Jordao, Marketing Director of Sotogrande S.A., the goal of combining sport and solidarity “has been fully achieved,” laying the groundwork for future editions.
