Hoy quiero hablar de turismo de calidad deportiva. Los eventos deportivos en general se han convertido en un claro ejemplo de polo de atracción que nos hacen referente internacionalmente. ¡Somos referentes europeos a la hora de albergar torneos y eventos deportivos de máximo nivel!

San Roque se ha convertido, otro año más, en el epicentro del deporte profesional a nivel global. Selecciones nacionales internacionales en rugby o fútbol en categorías masculinas y femeninas han sido asiduas de las instalaciones que Sotogrande y Pueblo Nuevo tienen para la práctica de ambas disciplinas deportivas y que se encuentran entre las principales y primeras opciones de elección en cuanto a instalaciones de máximo nivel hablamos.

Nuestro municipio posee una de las mejores ofertas de golf del panorama internacional con campos de máxima calidad y reconocido prestigio como La Reserva Club de Sotogrande, el Real Club Sotogrande, el remozado The San Roque Club o las nuevas apuestas por la excelencia como resorts de máximo nivel que auspician La Hacienda Links Resort o Almenara Sotogrande sin olvidarnos de la joya de la corona del campo municipal de La Cañada Golf…Todos nuestros clubes son, por tanto, referente a nivel internacional entre el golf amateur y profesional.

Ya os conté que la adhesión de La Hacienda Links Resort al European Tour Destinations ha sido una apuesta firme y segura en la que más pronto que tarde veremos eventos de máximo nivel profesional en sus instalaciones. Se une, por tanto, al Real Club Valderrama con la presencia de los mejores jugadores en un field que ha crecido exponencialmente en las últimas fechas. Un torneo que dejó una impronta espectacular entre los jugadores del DP World Tour. ¿Se alzará este año Rafa Cabrera Bello, Adrián Otaegui o Pablo Larrazábal con la victoria? Yo ya estoy expectante por lo que este 2024 nos depara…

Sports Tourism: an international tourist attraction!

I know that we are used to talking about quality tourism, that kind of tourism that visits our area especially to enjoy it and which we always welcome with the best of welcomes, with the friendliness, good professionalism and empathy that represents us and which guarantees an extra bonus when it comes to choosing us as a preferential destination worldwide.

Today I want to talk about quality sports tourism. Sporting events in general have become a clear example of a centre of attraction that makes us an international benchmark: we are a European benchmark for hosting top-level sporting events and tournaments!

San Roque has become, yet another year, the epicentre of professional sports on a global level. National rugby and football national teams in men’s and women’s categories have been regular visitors to the facilities that Sotogrande and Pueblo Nuevo have for the practice of both sports disciplines. They are among the first and foremost options of selection when it comes to top level facilities as we speak.

Our municipality has one of the best golf clubs on the international scene with top quality and prestigious courses such as La Reserva Club de Sotogrande, the Real Club Sotogrande, the renovated The San Roque Club or new investments for excellence as top level resorts sponsored by La Hacienda Links Resort or Almenara Sotogrande. Not to mention the crown jewel: the municipal course known as La Cañada Golf… All our clubs are, therefore, international benchmarks for amateur and professional golf.

As I have already told you, La Hacienda Links Resort’s joining the European Tour Destinations has been an assured and solid bet that we will see events of the highest professional level at its facilities sooner rather than later. It joins the Real Club Valderrama featuring the best players in a field that has exponentially grown in recent years.
